International Trade（國(guó)際貿(mào)易）

　　Today every country buys from and sells to other countries. If one country has more bananas than it needs，but no trucks，it may exchange the bananas with another country that has more trucks than it can use，but no bananas.　　

　　現(xiàn)在，每個(gè)國(guó)家都與其他國(guó)家做買(mǎi)賣(mài)。如果一個(gè)國(guó)家生產(chǎn)的香蕉超過(guò)了需求，但不生產(chǎn)卡車(chē)，它就可能與另外一個(gè)不產(chǎn)香蕉，但有剩余卡車(chē)的國(guó)家進(jìn)行交換。

　　The things a country sells to another country are called exports. The things a country buys from another country are called imports. International payments are made in the currency of the exporting country. Therefore，the paying countries have to buy the currency of the exporting country in the foreign exchange market.

　　一個(gè)國(guó)家將貨物賣(mài)給另一個(gè)國(guó)家叫出口，一個(gè)國(guó)家從另一個(gè)國(guó)家購(gòu)買(mǎi)貨物叫進(jìn)口。國(guó)際支付是用出口國(guó)貨幣進(jìn)行的，所以，付款國(guó)必須到外匯市場(chǎng)上購(gòu)買(mǎi)出口國(guó)的貨幣。

　　The exchange rate is the price of foreign currency in terms of domestic currency，and it varies from time to time. Sometimes a United States dollar is worth twelve pesos in Mexico. Another time it may be worth eight pesos.

　　外匯匯率是以本國(guó)貨幣表示的外國(guó)貨幣的價(jià)格。匯率會(huì)不時(shí)地波動(dòng)，有時(shí)一美元值十二墨西哥比索，有時(shí)只值八比索。

　　Today international trade is big business. Hundreds of business houses and banks are engaged in work connected with international trade. Wholesale houses buy in large quantities from other countries. They sell in smaller quantities to shopkeepers and other merchants. In turn，these merchants and shopkeepers sell in still smaller amounts to individual buyers.

　　現(xiàn)在，國(guó)際貿(mào)易是大買(mǎi)賣(mài)，許多商行和銀行從事與國(guó)際貿(mào)易有關(guān)的業(yè)務(wù)。批發(fā)商從其他國(guó)家大批量購(gòu)買(mǎi)，再小批量賣(mài)給商家和其他商人，由他們?cè)俎D(zhuǎn)手，零售給單個(gè)顧客。
